Born 1948, Sweden.
Chairman of the board in Optineo Group AB, since October 2015.
José Polet, obtained a Masters in journalism, history and
communication at the Free University of Brussels and started his
career as a member of Marcel Hicter’s “think tank”, a senior UNESCO
and Director-General at the Ministry of Culture (Belgium).
In 1978 he founded Budo House Brussels, a company that distributed
martial arts equipment. After establishing Sinotra, a joint venture
with China Travel Services, a tour operator specializing in trips to
China, José Xavier Polet returned to Belgian public affairs in 1991.
Between 1991 and 1998, he was part of the staff of a senior
Belgian minister, a member of the steering committee of a Brussels
municipality, in charge of communication and he is also responsible
for several innovative projects within various fields such as sports,
social policy and economic development.
From 1998 to 2001, José Xavier Polet worked for the Cime group, and
finally became vice president of the CIME Group, a venture capital
company specializing in ICT, based out of Luxembourg and sat on the
board of several companies in the group. He was responsible for new
projects, involved in 2 IPO’s, responsible for corporate communication,
José Polet also was the CEO of Cimelabs, a subsidiary responsible for
controlling the group’s investments in dozens of companies, located in
Germany, India, Mali, France, Belgium and Sweden.
From 2002 to 2012, he conducted micro and macro-economic
missions in West Africa (Niger, Mali, Congo Kinshasa, Congo
Brazzaville, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Ivory Coast and Angola).

In Mali he collaborated with Professor Mundell, a Nobel Prize winner
in economics.
In 2013, he founded Urwaf (Belgium) and Distrifiltres (France), two
companies distributing depollution systems designed in Sweden.
In 2015 he became chairman of the board for Optineo Group AB (publ).
José Polet has numerous commitments in the non-profit sector.
He was the Founder and President of the Belgian Federation of Kung
Fu Wu Shu for many years, liaison officer of the China Federation of
Wu Shu (Beijing), José-Xavier Polet has also served on the board for
the Federation of Chinese Kung Fu (Taipei).
President and co-founder of the Youth School Union St. Gilloise
(football, 400 young players).
Founder and President of Innovasport, social enterprise, Brussels.
Founder in 2003 of the association “Art and Science”, a platform that
gathers artists and scientists together around cognitive sciences.
José Polet is the father of three children (Yonnec, Aldric and Morgane).
