Indoor and Outdoor Play for Block 7
Indoor Play
Body Part Musical Chairs:
Have everyone form a big circle around the chairs with the chairs facing outward. Remove one chair. Have your music ready. When the music starts, everyone must walk around the chairs (again it’s fun if
you make them jog). When the music stops, a teacher yells out a body part. Then everyone races to touch that body part to a chair, one person per chair only. If they touch a chair before the body part is called, they are out. The one person who doesn’t get a chair is also out. To speed it up, you can remove
more chairs.Start out simple – nose, hair, left elbow, etc. but towards the end make it complicated.
Ha, Ha, Ha
All players form a circle and one player begins by saying, "ha." The next player says, "ha, ha," followed by the next player who says, "ha, ha, ha," and so on around the circle with each player adding
another "ha". Each player must pronounce their "ha ha's" as seriously as they can, to avoid laughter as long as possible. Any player who laughs or makes a mistake drops out of the haha circle. The player who keeps a straight face the longest, wins! Jungle Knots
Have the kids stand in a circle facing inward. To begin, everyone extends his or her right hand into the ring and takes a hold of someone else's hand. Then, they do the same with their left hands. The object of the game is to see if they can untangle the "knot" by stepping over, ducking under people, or turning
around. Whatever happens, they can't let go of hands! Simon Says. “Simon says stand up. Simon Says touch your nose. Sit down!” If a child follows the command without hearing, “Simon Says,” they have to sit down. Use some of the following: Wiggle your fingers, stand on one foot, hop one step, etc. Beware of Crocodiles
Cut out crocodile shapes from construction paper. Put them on the floor in a vertical line with letters, colours, shapes, or words at the end. Have your child tip toe, jump over, or gallop around the crocodiles to find a certain item at the end. Outdoor Activity Four Square
1. Draw a 6 by 10 foot square on a paved surface.
2. Divide the larger square into four smaller squares, number the squares 1 to 4, and have each child stand in a block.
3. The player in square 4 serves the ball by bouncing it in his square and tapping the ball into another square.
4. The player in that space must tap the ball (after one bounce) into another kid's area, and so on, until someone misses the ball, lets the ball bounce twice, or sends it out of the grid.
5. The player who misses the ball steps out and the remaining players rotate up through the numbered squares. If you are playing with more than four players, a new player enters the game at square 1.
Jump the creek
Need: Two long ropes
Divide the children into two teams, let them stand at the marked line.
On your signal, the two teams run and try to jump the ropes.
Keep on widening the ropes each time.
If the students land in the creek, they must dry their feet (lie on their back and shake their legs)
Then they get up and continue the jumps! Captain ball game
Have two teams lined up with the captain of each team standing one metre away from the first person on the team. To start the game, the captain throws the ball to the first player in the line who then throws the ball back and sits down. The captain throws the ball to the next player, who throws the ball back and sits down. The player continues in this way until all players have had a turn. The last player catches the ball and runs to the captain to replace him. The new captain now repeats the throwing of the ball to each player. The first team to complete have every player be the captain wins the game. Turtle ! Tiger ! Tree
To give little ones a full sense of their own selfcontrol, give them practice changing speed. For instance, when you call out “turtle” they need to walk very, very slow. When you call out “tiger” they need to speed up and move very, very fast. When you call out “tree” they need to stretch their “limbs” like a tree and freeze in place! Once they’ve got the hang of it, change to a more random/unpredictable
rhythm. And be sure to change the sequence so they have to listen carefully. Bunny Buzz
Children sit in a circle.Children take turns counting off numbers in turn: 1,2,3,4....When the number seven is reached, that player must say, "I love Bunny", instead of seven. When the child fails to do so and says seven, the child is out of the game. The game continues until only one player is left to be declared the winner. Art and Craft

keep the Qtip slating and drag it on a chart. Let them do it several times till they get the shape of rainbow.Apply glue at the corners and sprinkle some sand on it. Ladybug craft
