All Breeds Championship Dog Show – October 11th 2015

It was an honour to judge the October Show of the Barbados Kennel Club. Such a well presented and very
well run show. The weather was so kind by not being excessively hot. The majority of dogs were of high
standard with only a couple of breeds being disappointing in quality.
My Best In Show and Best Locally Bred In Show was the Boxer, Ch. Sundial’s Sun God Apollo At Kaibo.
Very smart, upstanding lad, well muscled and with so much breed type. Excellent, well balanced head with
good, broad muzzle. Good strong neck of correct length, going into good lay of shoulder. Exceptionally
well made body with good depth and lay of rib, correct topline and loin. Excellent front and rear
construction giving strong, true and clean movement.
Reserve Best In Show was the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Ch. Crownridge Flash Forward. Such a good looking
lad. Muscular, excellent, well made frame. Proud and strong. Very good head with correct flat skull, well
shaped and coloured eyes and good ears. Clean neck and shoulders, Deep chest with well sprung ribs, correct
topline and well made rear. Good bone and correct feet. Superbly free on the move. A wonderful example of
his breed and a delight to judge.
Best Puppy In Show was the Dobermann. Arisa Baltic Residence. Loved this youngster and, when she was
handled correctly, she moved and showed with such style. Very well made and built for her age. Excellent
head with good, almond eyes of good colour. Excellent body with good, straight topline. Great depth of
chest with well sprung ribs. Excellent front and rear angles. Moved exceptionally well, when handled
correctly. Should have a great future.
Best Locally Bred Puppy In Show was the Japanese Shiba Inu, Massima I’m So Fancy. Excellent, well
balanced outline. Good shoulders and front, correct well developed rear with correct bend of stifle. Head
developing well for age. Very good on the move.

1st & CC. Mr. W.A. & Dr. W.L. Welch’s Elthor’s Breaking Bad. Just a youngster but maturing well. Head
coming on, correct eye shape and colour. Good body with level topline. Well angled front and rear. Showed
and moved well. BOB.

1st & Res CC. Mrs. G. Seale’s Lord Wilbur. Pleasing head with clean eye. Very good neck and body with
good rib and level top. Well bent stifles with straight rear. Free moving front and rear.
Open Dog
1st CC & BOB. Mrs. G. Seale’s Willber Lazy Lord. Loved this lad. 11 Years and a credit to his breed and
owners. Lovely head of correct proportions, well shaped, clean eye. Good ears. Super body, correct front and
rear angles. Moved and showed so well.

Novice Dog
1st CC & BOB. Mrs. L. Husband’s Holders Sapphire Sky. Well balanced with good body and deep, well
sprung ribs. Well balanced head with strong muzzle and correct bite. Correct coat. Correct straight rear
movement. Just pinning in slightly in front. Reserve in Group.
2nd Mrs. D. Marshall’s Thatcher Dance With Wolves. Excellent depth of chest. Well angled front and rear.
Carrying too much weight and needs to strengthen on rear movement.
Limit Dog
1st & Res CC. Mr. J.S. Corbin’s Buzz Lightyear De Ria Vela. Well balanced lad all round with good head
proportions. Good front and rear construction and correct bone. Correct level top. RBOB.
Open Bitch
1st & CC. Mrs. L. Husbands & Mrs. J. Ray’s Sh Ch Angelusparks Heaven’s Gift To Thatcher. Well
balanced head but eye a little prominent. Excellent front construction and movement. Good body, sound rear.
Labrador Retrievers

1st CC & BOB. Mrs. A. Elliot’s Maranatha Bailey. Excellent make and shape with strong body, well sprung
ribs and good loin and topline. Loved his head and expression, correct muzzle and bite. Strong neck . Moved
and showed so very well. Best in Group.
Limit Bitch
1st Mr. E. Maynard’s Pitneze Princess Leah. Head a little too fine all round for me. Kind eye, correct ears.
Topline needs to be firmer and needs to strengthen on the move.
Irish Setter

1st CC & BOB. Mr. & Mrs. A. Moore’s Sh Ch Fearnley Fire Storm Of Moorlands C.D.. Excellent outline
with impressive deep chest and good slightly sloping topline. Lovely lean head with almond eyes. Very good
neck and front. Just let down on rear movement.

settle on the move.

1st CC & BOB. Mr. H. Jordan’s Jafrak Wowing The Crowds. Lovely outline with good short body and
correct roach to back. Lovely head and expression, correct eyes and lovely, well placed ears. Good width to
front and strong rear giving true sound movement. Best in Group.
Open Bitch
1st RCC. Mr. H. Jordan’s Ch Jafrak Dorado. Another lovely bitch with good outline and very correct roach.
Very good square head with good eye. Would like slightly larger ears. Correct front. Would like slightly
stronger rear movement.

1st CC & BOB. Mr. A. Taylor’s Massima No One Greater. Very smart lad. Well balanced with correct
length to leg , good bone, correct feet. Well shaped head with good stop. Correct eyes and ears. Good coat
texture. Sound on the move. Showed himself off well. Reserve in Group.
Puppy Bitch
1st & CC. Mr. A. Taylor’s Massima I’m So Fancy. Very well made bitch for her age. Balanced, correct
front and rear angles. Correct feet and bone. Head developing well. Good on the move. Best L/B Puppy in
Show.

1st CC & BOB. Ms. S. Blandford’s Pepperbox Zirconia. Well balanced and good proportions without any
courseness. Good head proportions with well shaped and set eyes. Good front construction and movement.
Straight but a little close behind. Carried tail well, when settled.
Bouvier Des Flandres
Open Bitch
1st CC & BOB. Miss M. Ashby’s Ch Chepam Valentina At Calliope. Quality girl. Powerfull, well
muscled with good bone. Coat of very good texture. Well developed head. Clean eyes. Strong neck, good
front and rear angles. Very sound on the move.
Bullmastiffs
Junior Dog
1st Mr. D. Cobham’s Fortesque Klaus. Correct ear placement. Good topline. Muzzle too long giving
incorrect balance to skull. Movement needs to improve.
Limit Dog
1st Mr. E. Franklyn’s Freedom Diggah. Good body shape and outline. Movement could be truer. Too much
head wrinkle and ears too high set, detracting from a true, square head.
Open Dog
1st Mr. B. Lowe’s Ch Royceprides Epic Dreamer At Cottage. Good ear set and placement but would like a
slightly shorter muzzle to give the desired square head. Eyes a little to deeply set. Good neck and body
shape. Needs to strengthen on the move.
Puppy Bitch
1st & Res CC. Mr. B.A. Bascombe’s Nexgen Hold That Tiger. Body developing well for age with correct
front and rear angles. Head developing but muzzle must not get any longer. Ears set a little high. Moved
soundly.
Limit Bitch
1st Mr. H. Franklyn’s Freedom Kandia. Good strong body with correct outline and topline. Good muzzle
and skull proportions but ears set too high which detracted from squareness of skull. Good front construction
and movement. Weak rear movement.
Open Bitch
1st CC & BOB.Mr. R. Wood’s Ch Woodney Diana White. Lovely well balanced head with correct ears,
giving square appearance. Strong body, good bone. Correct chest and front. Just needs to strengthen on rear.

angles. Would like cleaner eyes and correct bite.

the rate you would expect. Head and muzzle developing well, with good balance. Body and balance coming
on well, correct bone for age. Moved well when settled but needs a lot more ring training.

1st CC & BOB. Mrs. J. Pinheiro’s Dragonfly Venue De La Bleu. Still a youngster but developing so well.
Good, proud neck holding head so well. Good balance of skull to muzzle. Good angles front and rear and
very good depth of chest. Well boned, correct feet. Moved well when settled.

1st Mr. K.A. Mason’s Elthor Dark Primo. Good puppy with lovely head and expression, correct bite and
eye. Correct body for age, good front and rear angles. Very good, firm topline. Very good rear, just needs to
settle on front.
Junior Dog
1st CC & BOB. Dr. W.L. Welch’s Elthor Dark Matcho. Loved everything about this young lad. So very
well proportioned with excellent balance to body , great bone, correct feet, so very sound on the move.
Excellent head and muzzle, correct eyes, good ear shape and placement. Strong neck. Correct front and rear
assembly all giving true movement. Should make up to a Champion so very easily. Reserve in Group.
Limit Dog
1st & Res CC. Mr. N. McClean’s Kent Ridge Suzuki’s Driver. Very substantial lad with good body and
topline Would have liked a slightly shorter muzzle to create a better balance of muzzle to skull. OK on the
move.
Open Dog
1st Mr. R.T. Alleyne’s Richwood Arreleus Fire. Another substantial male with excellent topline. Well
sprung rib of good depth. Good front and rear angle with strong bone and good feet. Head proportions could
be better.
Minor Puppy Bitch
1st Mr. R.T. Alleyne’s Richwood Cia’s Heat. Correct bone for age. Good topline, chest and rear angles.
Would like a slightly larger eye and tighter feet. Needs to strengthen on the move.
Junior Bitch
1st Mr. T. Worrell’s Amays Carisma At Tropic. Very good outline with correct neck , chest and topline.
Very good bone and correct feet. Head developing with correct eyes. Very poor rear movement.
Limit Bitch
1st & Res CC. Mr. R.T. Alleyne’s Richwood Bea’s A Burning. Pleasing outline and balance. Good head
with correct eyes. Good bone and very good feet front and rear. Moved ok.
2nd Dr. W.L. Welch’s Elthor Dark Kendra. Rather longer and lighter in frame, lacking depth of chest .
Would like a better balance of head.

1st & Bitch CC. Mr. R.T. Alleyne’s Ch Richwood Akina’s Fire. Very well balanced head and muzzle with
very good eye shape and size. Excellent bone and feet. Good topline, depth of chest and rib. Correct neck.

1st CC & BOB. Miss A. Bynoe’s Kalaslane Addicted To You. Only 13 months but maturing and
developing so well. Strong body with correct, deep chest, good rib and correct, short loin. Very good
shoulders and strong hind quarters with correct stifles. Strong bone, well made feet with strong pads. Good
tail set and carriage. Excellent type of coat. Head maturing well with good overall balance. So very sound on
the move. Should do well.
German Shepherd Dogs

1st Mr. P. Blunte’s Chomahaus Jaxx. Very disappointing lad lacking substance and quality. Very unsound
on rear movement.
Junior Bitch
1st Mrs. B. Kaufman’s Thorsson Haus Ava. Excellent bite, Pleasing head with correct eyes. Good bone,
correct feet. Needs to strengthen on move. BOB.
