Reflection for Today
Jesus, you came as one of us to be with us
on the road of life.
You asked to be baptised even though
it was something you did not need.
You washed the disciples feet in a similar
act of humility and kindness.
We know only too well that
we should live the same way.
Take away any arrogance from our lives.
May we reach out in love to our brothers and sisters.
Keep us down to earth and able to laugh at ourselves.
May we never mock those who do menial work
but rather help them by doing a little bit ourselves and so
show that you still live in the world.
‘The best and most beautiful things in the world
cannot be seen or even touched
— they must be felt with the heart’
Helen Keller
