Copying Spooled Files from the AS/400
To Your Desktop/Folders
Using
AS/400 IBM Client Access iSeries Navigator
Before running your AS400 report, you should open your “AS400 Print Session” and “STOP” your printer to
prevent the job from going directly to the printer before you’ve had time to capture the spooled output report…
You might also want to put the print job on “Hold” (option 3)…
•
Click “Start” button
•
Select/Expand “Programs”
•
Select/Expand “IBM iSeries Access for Windows”
•
Select iSeries Navigator
NOTE: If you don’t see this listed, call the hotline x-7676… ask them to install IBM iSeries
Navigator

Enhancing the look of your spreadsheet….
You will probably want to remove
report headings generated by the
AS400 K-12 software and create your
own column header row…
Maybe add a header and footer…
Resort, change font, etc…
And, save your final spreadsheet.
Add a header and footer…
Delete old report headers and
create new headers…
Resize columns…
Finally, don’t forget to save your
new version of this
report/spreadsheet…
Be sure to “Save As” a “.xls”
file…
