out of abject poverty. After learning that the local tiger prawns were of
expor t qualit y, the communit y worked with a team of SIFE students to plant 12,000 Mang rove plant s in Pulic at L ake to help natur ally improve salt levels. This allowed the shrimp to grow in abundance and the
villagers’ income from exports to increase. Coming back from disaster, a
community working together and the promise of a better future.
