It’s the most wonderful time of the year for Pennsylvania Lottery players who are anxious to play the new
holiday-themed instant games! Again this year, Lottery retailers will earn bonus commission through
Jan. 2, 2017 on sales of these holiday instant games.
This year’s games are: $1,000,000 Snow Bank ($20), Trim the Tree ($10), Frosty Ca$h ($5), Freezin’
Greetings ($3), Unwrap the Cash ($2) and Merry Money ($1).
Remind players to enter non-winning tickets for these games into our Secret Santa Second-Chance
Drawings, which will also accept tickets for most draw games. Enter through the online VIP Players Club
at palottery.com or using our official mobile app.
The second-chance drawings will award an array of cash prizes: $10,000; $50,000; and $100,000; and
numerous “Secret Santa” prizes! The final entry deadline is Jan. 5, 2017.

season, an exciting time for Lottery players and
retailers. Again this year, retailers will enjoy earning
bonus commission on all fully sold and settled packs of
holiday instant games from Oct. 24, 2016 to Jan. 2, 2017.
Plus, we’ll offer special promotions offering qualifying retailers
the chance to win thousands of dollars.
Also, we’ll again issue a fresh batch of non-holiday games in late
November. See the article on the next page to understand why this
launch is good for business and can grow your commissions. Our popular millionaire
Raffle will also be back, with six new Early bird bonus drawings in November and
December, followed by the game drawing on Jan. 7, 2017.
I want to remind retailers to verify the age of all players -- not only at the holidays, but year-round.

Games
Fast Play is a new type of game coming to the Pennsylvania Lottery next year. Fast Play games are played
like an instant game, but without the need to scratch!
Fast Play tickets are printed on demand from a Lottery terminal on regular ticket stock. Each game has its
own prize structure and rules. Games will be offered at a variety of price points.
Games in the Fast Play category have proven to be popular in other states where they are sold. more
information on Fast Play will be available inside the Retailer Portal prior to the sales launch.

Why Launch New Games In November?
Happy Players = Sales & Commission Growth!
Lottery players are always looking for fresh games (even during the holiday season), so a
November launch gives players what they want while helping to grow your total sales and
commissions.
The November 2015 instant game launch resulted in 83 percent incremental growth during its
first 16 weeks and did not impact the sales performance of holiday-themed instant games.
In the chart below, the green line shows actual instant game sales for late October to early February.
The purple line shows the same period in the previous year. The red dashed line shows what instant
game sales would have been without the November “incremental” game launch.
The success of the November game blitz contributed to last year’s average retailer commissions
rising by 3.6 percent over the previous year.
To ensure your success, remember to promptly activate and display new instant games. Ask your
District Lottery Representative for other ideas.

Remember to immediately activate and display the holiday-themed and November blitz instant games for
the chance to win prizes!
Our Early Activation promotions in October and November offer a total of $75,000 in prizes to qualifying
retailers. Plus, the Fill ‘Em Up drawing returns, offering $49,000 in prizes! From Nov. 22 to Dec. 31, we’ll
“mystery shop” retailers to make sure all the November blitz games are activated and all displays are
stocked. Retailers can receive a bonus entry for having all holiday instant games activated & displayed, as
well. In addition to awarding one grand prize of $5,000, there will be 88 sales district winners randomly
selected to win a $500 account credit.

Instant Games Closing Dates
All closed games should be removed from display by the end-of-sale date. They should be settled, and

Remember: Tickets are NOT Toys!
Pennsylvania Lottery games make great holiday gift ideas
for adults, but we encourage players to refrain from giving
tickets as gifts to children. Lottery games are intended only
for players 18 or older. Again this holiday season, the
Pennsylvania Lottery is supporting the National Council on
Problem Gambling’s campaign to remind adults that
tickets are not toys.
The holiday sales season is an ideal time to strengthen
awareness about responsible and age-appropriate play.
Retailers and clerks must continuously monitor all
vending units, such as self-service terminals and
instant ticket vending machines to ensure purchasers
are 18 or older. Vending units must be within an employee’s line of sight.
Retailers may print their own color “Players must be 18 or older” poster from the Retailer section
of palottery.com to be posted wherever games are sold.
