Dear Parents,
Gospel of Sunday 15th January 2017
Seeing Jesus coming towards him, John said, “Look, there is the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the
world. This is the one I spoke of when I said, ‘A man is coming after me who ranks before me because he
existed before me.’ I did not know him myself, and yet it was to reveal him to Israel that I came baptising with
water.” John also declared, “I saw the Spirit coming down on him from heaven like a dove and resting on him.
I did not know him myself, but he who sent me to baptise with water had said to me, ‘The man on whom you
see the Spirit come down and rest is the one who is going to baptise with the Holy Spirit.’ Yes, I have seen and
I am the witness that he is the Chosen One of God.”
(John 1:29-34) The 2nd Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year A)

PARKING CONGESTION
Since we have returned this year, we have had numerous complaints from local residents and our school
community about some of the self-centred and selfish actions of some of our parents in relation to where
they park their vehicles. This is a poor reflection on a wonderful school community. Please can you be
mindful and considerate to other drivers and the flow of traffic around school.
HAIRSTYLES
We would just like to remind you that no extreme haircuts, including shaved patterns or dyed hair
are allowed at school. For further details see the school planner. Also if you are unsure about any
aspect of uniform/PE kit/ hairstyles etc. please check our school website for more information.
UNIFORM
Thank you for presenting your children so beautifully in their school uniform and
wearing it with pride. We are always very proud of the standards set and maintained at St
Mark’s. The children are a credit to you and we appreciate your support with school
uniform. We are continuing with our presentation award to reward a class each week for their
high standards. Please ensure that all items are clearly marked with your child’s name. Parents should
write a note in their child’s planner if for any reason they are unable to wear the correct uniform.
“BY THE WAY… FACT OF THE DAY”
Please help your child to learn and remember this week’s “Fact of the Day”. They will be encouraged to
recite this fact on a number of occasions.
