“I” Game
Program
Print off the game at the back of this meeting. You will need one copy
of the laws and as many copies of the “I” statements as you have
teams. I would have the “I” statements copied on to a separate colour
per team to keep it easy to organize.
You in GuidingUnderstanding the
promise , Law and
Motto #1
Cut up the laws and place them around the room. Give each team a
set of the “I” statements cut up. As a team they need to read them
and place them at the law that they believe it belongs to.
After the game you can go over any statements that people disagreed
on. Remember that there may be a few spots for some statements.

COLOURFUL LAW
Equipment: the law from the “I” game cut up per team (seven per
team)
seven pieces of coloured construction paper in seven
different colours (per team)
You in GuidingUnderstanding the
promise , Law and
Motto #1
Give each team the laws you printed off form the “I” game as well as
the seven different colours of construction paper. The girls have to
match each part of Law to a coloured strip and then explain why they
think that part of the Law is that colour. This is a great activity to work
together and come to a consensus as a team.

Craft
Guides
Law wall hanger
You’ll need: coloured large craft sticks, ribbon, sharpies, glue gun
Have the girls write down parts of the law on each popsicle stick. Then
take 2 long pieces of ribbon and have the girls glue them onto the
ribbons in order…one on each side. I have places a picture of one on
the side of a Girl Scout one.
Once they are all glued in place they can tie the two ribbons together
at the top.

Paper Bag Law
You’ll need: one paper bag per team that you have put all sorts of
objects in such as bandaids, a screwdriver, a photo, a
twig, a hair elastic…etc
You in GuidingUnderstanding the
promise , Law and
Motto #1
What to do:
Give each team a bag and have them come up with a way to use each
object for one of the Guiding laws. If you have time you can come back
together and share with the larger group some of the ideas that each
team come up with.
Song
An example: I would use a screwdriver to fix my bike instead of just
buying a new one….using my resources wisely.
Guide Law Song
I challenge myself with the Guiding Law
To be honest and true
To be wise in the use of resources I have
To respect myself and others too
To know and to use my gifts and skills
To protect our common world
Live with courage and strength
And to share in the joys
Of the Guiding sisterhood!
Have your girls pick some songs and challenge them to relate them to
a Guide law!!!!
Closing
Before you close repeat your Law all together.
