Treat your fellow students and your teacher the way you would like to be treated.
This is Spanish class, expect to work on Spanish, NOT math, English, science, etc.!
Bring all materials to class every day and participate in all classroom activities.
Phones and other electronic devices will be allowed provided they are used for academic purposes. If inappropriate
use exists, school policy will be followed.
Be on time to class, and expect to be involved in classroom activities until the bell rings. (Classes who avoid hanging
around the door the last few minutes of the hour will have extra credit questions on quizzes.)
Have homework done on time. Since homework is reviewed in class and given credit on the spot, late work generally
will not be accepted. (If there long term assignment/project and is turned in late, it may be turned for up to half credit
before the test.)
Privilege: Provided the room is kept neat and picked up, food and water/juice are allowed. Beverages must be in a
closeable plastic bottle. If any of these things become a distraction, this privilege may be lost.
Attendance Policy: Regular attendance and arrival on time are basic requirements that are necessary to be successful
in the classroom or on the job site. You are expected to meet these requirements on a daily basis.

Tardies will result in loss of points. Each tardy will result in a 5 point deduction.
Any tardy over one minute without a pass will be counted as one tardy per minute late. For example, five minutes
late without a pass counts as five tardies.
Points may be recovered by serving detention time in A124 -- 10 minutes per tardy. (4 tardies = 40 minutes).
Tests, quizzes, or homework missed due to unexcused absences / truancy will receive minimal credit.
If you know you’re going to be gone in advance (student council, field trip, etc.) it is your responsibility to know
what’s assigned and to come prepared the next day.
Assignments missed due to excused absences (out of building and not known in advance) will be due the day after
returning to class.
Late work will NOT be accepted for credit after the chapter test!

Test retake policy:
To retake a test or a part of a test for me, the students need to come in on three separate occasions, outside of class. The
process needs to be completed a minimum of one week prior to the next test. All practice/assignments for the chapter
need to be completed to have the opportunity for a retake.
1st day: I go over the test with the student. Sometimes I give him/her study techniques. Often, I will show him/her test
taking techniques (not just related to Spanish) and things that could have been done to improve the test score. Then, I
give the student an assignment/assignments that he or she should do before retaking the test.
2nd day: After the student has studied, or completed the assignments, he or she comes in to show me their work and we
go over it together. This way I can see that they understand the material and I know that they are prepared to retake the
test. I ask if they have any other questions and we set a date and time to retake the test. For the students who have the
opportunity to use websites for extra practice and there isn't much to discuss, I ask if they had questions or if there were
any other problems. Then we set the date and time for the retake.
3rd day: The students come in outside of class time to take the test. This could be a lunch period, a study hall (or a study
period if there is a sub in the class), before school, or after school. There must to be enough time allowed to complete the
part or parts that the student wants to do.
I correct the test, or sections, and average the two scores together. Usually the student stays while I correct the test to
reinforce the new learning. There are times when I am teaching when the student retakes the test, then I encourage the
student to return and look at the test to see where the improvements were.
