EH-PB - esco

Package Information
EH-PB
Introduction
EH-PB is a Profibus-DP gateway that allows Hitachi EH-150 or MICRO-EH PLCs to be connected as a
slave in a Profibus-DP network. The EH-PB is designed for the connection to the RS422 port of the EH150 PLC (port 1) and the MICRO-EH PLC (port 2).
Physical Interface
Profibus connector
The fieldbus interface is optically separated from the other electronics. The fieldbus interface of the EHPB is a 9-pin female D-SUB connector. Please refer to the table below for the pin layout.

EH-PB configuration
Note address
Two rotary switches are available to configure the node address in the Profibus-DP network. They
are accessible by opening the enclosure as shown in the figure below.
The address must be set for two different purposes:
-
Profibus node addressing (allowable addresses are 1-99 – hexadecimal format)
Selection for Gateway configuration mode in order to upgrade the firmeware (address 00)

Adding GSD file
The first step is to add the description file (EHBP0692.GSD) to the library of the Profibus-DP master
programming tool. Please open in the Sycon configuration software the window File -> Copy GSD
and select the dedicated GSD file.
Adding slave device
Next step is to insert the slave module. Therefore pick the device from the “slave library” and
connect it (drag & drop) to the Profibus line.

EH-PB
Slave configuration
Double click with the left mouse button on the device in the network topology to open the
configuration window.
From this window you can configure the In-and Output data for the communication as well as the
communication speed between the EH-PB and the Hitachi PLC (EH-150, MICRO-EH).

EH-PB
Baudrate
To set the baudrate please click on the “Parameter Data” button and afterwards on the “Common”
button. The following window will appear.
The baudrate can be changed by double clicking on the baudrate.
Possible values are Default (0), 4800 (1), 9600 (2) and 19200 (3)

EH-PB
In-Output data
You can select three different tasks
4 Word Input: reads 4 words from Hitachi PLCs
4 Word Output: writes 4 words to Hitachi PLCs
Status Word: reports the status information (one word) of the EH-PB; if no error in the read or write
task is reported the first byte is 00hex and the second byte shows the speed code selection. If there
is an error in the communication with the Hitachi PLC, the first byte shows the address of the PLC,
and the second byte the error type (1=read, 2=write).
Maximum number of tasks are 9.
Input data
Click on the “Module” button and select “4 Word Input” and press the OK button.
In the subwindow, “PLC address / First Register address”, can be set.
In the example, 4 words will be read from the Hitachi PLC with station number = 1, starting from
WM0 to WM3.

“PLC address” range value is: 1 .. 255;
“First register address” range value is: 0 .. 1023;
Output data
Click on the “Module” button and select “4 Word Output” and press the OK button.
In the subwindow, “PLC address / First Register address”, can be set.
In the example 4 words will be written to the Hitachi PLC with station number = 1, starting from
WMA to WMD.
“PLC address” range value is: 1 .. 255;
“First register address” range value is: 0 .. 1023;
