INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS LEAFLET
WHAT IS FESS SINU-CLEANSE HYPERTONIC SALINE SPRAY?
FESS Sinu-Cleanse is a deep penetrating non-medicated hypertonic continuous spray. It contains an
alkaline buffered mild hypertonic saline solution.
WHAT IS FESS SINU-CLEANSE USED FOR AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
FESS Sinu-Cleanse helps relieve nasal and sinus congestion due to colds, sinusitis, rhinitis and allergies.
Irrigating the nasal and sinus cavities with a hypertonic solution washes out excess mucus, allergens
and pollutants.
THE BENEFITS OF USING A HYPERTONIC SALINE SPRAY
A hypertonic saline solution is ‘saltier’ than regular saline to gently draw liquid out of the sinuses. This helps
relieve post nasal drip and sinus pressure.
POST-OPERATIVE NASAL CARE
Nasal surgery can result in inflammation of the nasal and sinus cavities. After nasal surgery there is also
a tendency for crusts of dried blood and mucus to irritate the sinus passages and block mucus drainage.
Regular use of FESS Sinu-Cleanse post-operatively will help clear the nasal and sinus cavities of dried
blood and mucus. Your ENT specialist will advise and instruct in the use of this product in the postoperative period.
CAN FESS SINU-CLEANSE BE USED WHILE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?
FESS Sinu-Cleanse is non-medicated and may be used in pregnancy and while breastfeeding.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU OVERUSE FESS SINU-CLEANSE?
FESS Sinu-Cleanse is non-medicated and therefore an overdose or excessive use is highly unlikely to result
in harmful or long lasting side effects.
HOW SHOULD FESS SINU-CLEANSE BE STORED?
Keep in a cool dry place below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
WHAT PACKAGING IS AVAILABLE?
FESS Sinu-Cleanse is also available in an Isotonic Saline Spray 100mL, a Hypertonic Nasal and Sinus Wash
and a Isotonic Nasal and Sinus Wash.
WHEN SHOULD FESS SINU-CLEANSE NOT BE USED?
FESS Sinu-Cleanse should not be taken orally and should be kept out of reach of children. Do not use if
your nasal passages are completely blocked or if you have an ear infection. If symptoms are not relieved
within 2 days, consult your healthcare professional. If your doctor or pharmacist does not recommend
FESS Sinu-Cleanse for your child, Children’s FESS® or FESS Little Noses® may be suitable. Do not use after
the expiry date. A single can of FESS Sinu-Cleanse should not be used by more than one person as this
may spread infection.
HOW SHOULD FESS SINU-CLEANSE BE USED?
There are a number of ways in which FESS Sinu-Cleanse can be used. The Head Upright Position is the

saline solution to penetrate further into the sinus and nasal cavities. For further information, consult your
