Monthly Summary – April 2017 The number of attacks in April 2017 was similar to that of the previous month: 118 attacks (including 96 firebomb attacks), compared to 119 in March. In Judea and Samaria, 89 attacks were executed in April, compared to 91 in March. 26 attacks took place in Jerusalem, compared to March's 20. One attack was executed within the Green Line, compared to two in March. Finally, two attacks originated from the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula this month, compared to six in March. Two people (an Israeli soldier and a British student) were killed this month in terrorist attacks. 13 Israelis overall were injured in terrorist attacks in April (eight civilians and five security personnel). The soldier was killed and another security officer was wounded in a car ramming attack in Ofra (6 April); the British student was killed and an Israeli citizen was wounded in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem (14 April). In addition, stabbing attacks resulted in two Israeli citizens and one security officer wounded in the Old City of Jerusalem (1 April); four Israeli citizens were wounded in Tel Aviv (23 April); another security officer was stabbed at the Qalandiya checkpoint (24 April). One Israeli citizen was wounded at Gush Ezion junction in a car ramming attack (19 April); one security officer was wounded in Silwan (27 April) and one security officer in Rafat (28 April) as a result of firebomb attacks. Data on Terrorist Attacks in April 2017 The distribution of terrorist attacks by region was as follows: two attacks from the Gaza Strip and the Sinai Peninsula (compared to six in March); 89 attacks in Judea and Samaria (91 in March); 26 attacks in Jerusalem (20 in March); and one attack within the Green Line, compared to two in March. Once again, most of the attacks in Jerusalem and J&S (96 out of 115) in April were firebomb attacks. In March, 93 out of 111 attacks in these regions involved firebombs.
