General Hospital If other illness is found, examination is possible within the hospital. There are hospitals that provide Services in Foreign Languages. Facilities of many hospitals are well equipped. Private Hospital There are hospitals with grand hospital rooms and luxurious meals. There are hospitals where you can do aerobics and swimming. You can deliver your child at the Maternity Home with your family at presence. Maternity Home Although doctors are not present, examination can be done at a tie-up hospital in case of emergency. You can deliver a child at home also with the presence of a birthing assistant. When you need help, come to “Oyako Hiroba” (the Parents and Children Plaza), where you can meet experienced mothers and childcare support helpers. Medical Expense Subsidy for Pregnancy Hypertension Syndrome The city will pay for expenses when the expecting mother needs to be hospitalized for treatment regarding high blood pressure syndrome and related illnesses, diabetes, anemia, obstetrics bleeding and heart disease. Classes are offered to first-time parents. It is a great opportunity to make friends. Dentist will check your teeth and gums and give you advice on dental brushing. During pregnancy, you can easily get periodontal disease and tooth decay due to the change of hormones and irregular eating habits caused by morning sickness. Instructions at home for expecting mothers A maternity nurse or a public health nurse will come to your house and give you advice on everyday life. You can consult them by telephone, too.
