Hear a holiday story and make a Rudolph hat. Create a craft stick development . Included are stories, songs, rhymes, and one on one parent/child playtime with brain-based learning toys and books. The program is also designed to teach parents about the importance of a child’s early experiences to the wiring of his or her brain in a fun, informal learning setting where play is emphasized. Junior League of Phoenix Presents: Arctic Animals Join the Junior League of Phoenix R.O.C.K.E.T.S. program as we learn about animals of the Arctic in this interactive program! Noisemakers Get ready for New Year’s Even by making these colorful noisemakers to celebrate the new year! Phoenix Children’s Hospital Presents: My Plate There are five major components that make up a proper meal plate: fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains and dairy. This lesson covers how to build a healthy plate and why it is important. There will be interactive activities and an art project that will help kids remember what their plates should look like. Pine Needle Paintbrushes Visitors will enjoy using pine needles as a painting tool to create artistic masterpieces in this creative program! Snowball Launcher We don’t have much snow in Arizona, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make your own snowball launcher! In this case, the snowballs are actually cotton balls and the launcher is a cup covered with a balloon. With this launcher, you will enjoy the kindest and gentlest “snowball” fight you’ve ever been in! Snow Globes Enjoy this fun, wintery craft as you use a variety of craft materials to Storytime with Phoenix Public Library Share books, stories, songs, Marshmallow Snowmen Hear a snowman story, and then create your own TFFFN: Brain Time During Mess Makers for Toddlers/Preschoolers Join us as we play with insta-snow, and use it to create a piece of art! Encouraging a “Language of Learning” One of Southwest Human Development’s literacy experts will teach parents how to explore books on different literacy levels so that they are able to make age appropriate book selections for their children. Parents will also learn to adapt a book for their child’s developmental level, and understand age appropriate book behavior. This workshop is designed for children ages birth to five plus a parent/caregiver and includes story time, an art activity, singing, and dancing.
