A message from Miss Holloway
We are half way through the year already!
KH have grown so much this term. We are
now writing sentences, adding and
subtracting numbers and counting up to
100!
I am very pleased with all of the student’s
efforts towards their learning. I wonder
what we will be doing by next term?!

Term 2, 2016
Our Learning Goals
Writing - Our goal for Term 2 was =
Write a sentence with a capital letter and
full stop. To write new words by listening to
their sounds and using finger spaces
between our words.
Reading - Our goal for Term 2 was =
Build our knowledge of Magic Words when
we read and sound out new words.
Numbers - Our goal for Semester 1 was =
To count up to 100 and count backwards
from 30. To add and subtract numbers up
to 20.
Our MAGIC WORDS are so important,
because they are helping us to read and
write more efficiently.
REMINDERS
At Fairvale, every student has FREE access to
Mathletics and Reading Eggs. Two programs
that are an excellent home learning tool for
your children. Your childrens access codes are
in their homework packs.
We have started borrowing books from the
library. Students must bring these back the
following week to receive a new one.
For homework, students have been given a
new writing book. This is to complete their
weekly activities in.
Our class would love baby wipes, tissues
and newspaper. We use these things a lot!
Thank you to the people who have already
brought in these resources!
If you collect a combination of 5 merit
certificates and FAIR awards you can take
them to the office to receive an Honour
Certificate!
What can your child revise in the
holidays?
 Writing their last name.
 Counting backwards from 30.
 Reading a book every night.
 Sounding out new words and writing
them.
 Read and writing your magic words
and putting them into sentences.
 Writing simple sentences by
themselves like, ‘I went to the beach.’
Or ‘I can see the dog.’
