Dear Parents/Carers, Today I met with our School Council children. We had a very productive meeting and discussed how we would spend the money raised from our recent sponsored pancake toss. The children decided that they would like to get some scooter shelters, so we looked at a variety of shelters and have picked some shelters that the children like. Next week we will be focusing on attendance and wellbeing in school. Every child will be given an attendance monitoring card, all pupils with 100% attendance and no lates will be entered into a draw. One pupil from each class will receive a prize. As a school we encourage our children to be in school and on time every day as lateness and inconsistency in their attendance can be very detrimental to their learning. Therefore, please may everyone try their very best to be in school every day and on time next week. Bethany D & Grace D are being very brave. Both girls are having a substantial amount of their hair cut off in aid of ‘The little Princess Trust’. This charity uses donated hair to make wigs for children suffering with cancer. A big WELL DONE! Too both girls we are all very proud of you. I wish you all a lovely weekend – Mrs Greensill Attendance The classes with the best overall attendance for last week were 1D with 99.3% well done! To the 3 classes who achieved their Early Birds. Our overall attendance for that week was 93.6% Last week there were 20 incidents of lateness recorded. Please remember that the side gate and reception entrance door closes at 8.55am. Please do not try to bring your child into school via the school office before this time unless this has been arranged in advanced or your child has been invited to take part in a before school club. There are numerous parents whom regularly bring their child into school via the office instead of their entry point before 8.55am. If this continues you will be asked to take your child into school via the relevant entrance for their year group. Children should be in their classes ready for the day ahead at 9.00am. Please refrain from smoking near the school entrance and exit gates. It is not pleasant for other parents/carers and children to have to walk through. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. ‘Freda Reader’ Each week we will be tallying up how many times the pupils from each class have read to a grown up outside of school. The class with the most will be awared with ‘Freda Reader’ for the following week. The results for last week are as follows: RG 12 1A 9 2HW 11 RR 5 1D 20 2M 21 RL 13 1W 19 2C 23 Well Done to class 2C, who have been awarded ‘Frieda’ this week. We wish them all a Happy Birthday from your friends and teachers at Leigh Beck Infants. Nursery Stars Eva L, Scarlett M & Riley R-G have been awarded the ‘Star of the week’ certificate this week.
