Wonder_of_Learning_C.. - Early Childhood Educators of BC

BE A CHAMPION FOR THE WONDER OF LEARNING EXHIBIT
The Wonder of Learning Exhibit will shape the history of early care and learning
in the province.
By engaging early childhood educators, families, and policy makers with ideas
and examples about the potential of young children as powerful, capable
producers of culture and learning the profile of early childhood educators will be
promoted.
The more awareness we build for this exhibit from Reggio Emilia, Italy the
greater our impact will be. We need everyone to start spreading the word as
"champions" for The Wonder of Learning exhibit.
Be a Wonder of Learning "champion" by doing three simple things NOW:
(1) SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT THE EXHIBIT ITSELF
Build a "buzz" about the exhibit now: spread the word that the exhibit will be at
the River Market, New Westminster Quay from July 17 to December 8, 2012.
The Quay has many other attractions - restaurants, river walk, museum, river
gazing - that will interest everyone, making it a great day trip for families all
summer long. The Quay is steps away from the Skytrain and is easy to get to
from communities throughout the Lower Mainland.
(2) TELL EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS ABOUT PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Add the exciting opening week events to your calendar.
July 17 you will have an opportunity to meet and hear Carla Rinaldi speak while
enjoying dinner with colleagues. Carla is a professor of education in Reggio
Emilia and is a leading spokesperson for the Reggio Approach. Purchase your
tickets at http://www.regonline.ca/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1092459
July 18 you will tour the exhibit with colleagues after the opening ceremony.
Visit http://www.vancouverreggioconsortium.com for more information and to
register today for these events. Tickets available directly at
http://www.regonline.ca/Register/Checkin.aspx?EventID=1095733
Let your colleagues know about an ongoing series of professional development
events.
October 19 & 20 – CAYC conference in New Westminster, B.C.
Ongoing series of workshops and tours of the exhibit with trained docents are
available. Visit www.vancouverreggioconsortium.com for more information and
to register.
(3) NETWORK, LEARN SKILLS, AND SHARE THE REGGIO APPROACH BY
VOLUNTEERING
Volunteer at the exhibit for a minimum of four sessions. This is an opportunity to
spend time with the exhibit, network with other early childhood educators, learn
new skills, and help inform visitors about the Reggio Approach. To sign up for
volunteering visit www.vancouverreggioconsortium.com or contact Michelle de
Salaberry: [email protected]
Thank you for being a Wonder of Learning Champion
