Explanations:
1.
CCTV has only been a ‘stand alone’ budgeted cost centre since the 2008/09 financial
year. Prior to that time the costs were absorbed into a wider work stream and we
are unable to separate the costs out
2. Tag Busters has only operated as a ‘stand alone’ budgeted cost centre since the start
of the 2012/13 financial year. Between 2007 and June 2012 the performance of tag
removals was one of a range of functions carried out by staff working under the
wider Employment Development Team project focus using largely unskilled
personnel as required under the Employment Development Programme. We are
unable to break down the actual costs incurred with graffiti removal during the
period 2007 – 2012.

Hi Jude
I’m doing a bit of research and need to request some information please – what I need to
know is the annual costs associated with tag busters and CCTV over the last 10 years
please. (year ending 30 June 2015 would be fine as an end date).
I don’t mean for this to be an onerous task so all I really need is the bottom line, year-end
spend associated with both activities. I don’t need any break down or detail as to how it was
arrived at, just the total figure. Hopefully this should make life a lot easier!
What I’m looking at is activity in Hamilton that sees a rising cost to council/the community
through addressing graffiti/violence etc so there’s nothing ominous to Council about this,
more to support the argument that things are (or maybe are not) getting worse in this
respect.
I’m guessing this is a relatively easy request, but if the information proves hard to source, I’d
be more than happy with knowing what the operating budget was for both activities, but
again, over 10 years please.
