Medicare and health insurance do not pay for most long-term care. This comes as a shock for many people who did not plan in advance for this need. There is an organization that provides education and planning tools for Minnesotan’s of all ages. Minnesota Own Your Future helps Minnesota prepare for the dramatic increases in the number of people who will be age 85 and older by the year 2030. You can check out their website at: http://mn.gov/dhs/general-public/own-yourfuture/about-this-website.jsp If you are interested in their free planning guide, stop by and see me or Megan at the front desk and we will get one for you. ~Cheryl Klinkhammer Ebenezer Rocks! Let us introduce you to the gloveless pioneers of the 1840s. We’ll catch-up on baseball history with stories like this one; It was the afternoon of July 4, 1905, when 12,666 fans came to watch the Boston Puritans play the Philadelphia Quakers in Boston. Neither pitcher gave a base on balls the entire game. After 3 hours and 31 minutes the Philadelphia Quakers, with a score of 4-2, won the 20-inning game. We’ll slide into baseball’s fascinating firsts. What rookie hit the first grand slam during a World Series? When was the first curve ball thrown and by whom? This witty program is filled with marvelous baseball memories, legends and lore.” Japan surrendered on August 14th, 1945, ending WWII.
