2. Describe the correlation illustrated by the scatter plot. Classify as positive, negative, or no correlation.
3. Determine whether the sequence appears to be an arithmetic sequence. If so, find the common difference and
the next three terms in the sequence.
–5, –11, –17, –23, –29, . . .
4. Find the 20th term in the arithmetic sequence –4, 1, 6, 11, 16,...
Block 2
5. For f(x) = −x + 7 , find f(x) when x = 1.
6. Graph −x + 2y = −2 for the domain D: {–4, –2, 0, 2, 4}.
7. Graph the function y = −2x − 1 .
8. Use the graph of the function f(x) = 2x – 2 to find the value of y when x = −2 .

Jacob has 68 water bottles for the 5K race participants. In addition, he is planning to buy some
boxes of water bottles that have 14 water bottles each. All of the boxes cost the same. Jacob is not sure yet
about the number of boxes of water bottles he wants to buy, but he has enough money to buy up to 5 of them.
Write a function to describe how many water bottles Jacob can buy. Let x represents the number of
boxes of water bottles Jacob buys. Find a reasonable domain and range for the function.
