PITTLER T&S GmbH
In 1889, Wilhelm von Pittler established a machine factory in Leipzig, Germany, and called it „Invention“ W. von
Pittler. It soon became well-known for the development of the first mechanical lathe equipped with a tool turret.
Today, PITTLER T&S GmbH is a synonym for state-of-the-art lathing centers for the complete machining of
parts at diameters of up to 5,000 mm. More often than not, chucking once is enough for both soft and hard
turning processes. Extensive research & development and close cooperation with other DVS GROUP entities enables
PITTLER to efficiently link the lathing processes to upstream or downstream technologies such as milling,
drilling, gear cutting or deburring.

PITTLER MultiTool is a real multi-tasking talent. Up to 6 tools
attached to a single adapter make changing tools at the workpiece
a matter of course, saving machining time and space in the toolbox.
Adapters of different lengths perfectly match the part‘s geometry
and enable highly efficient outer diameter, inner diameter and
facing operations as well as undercuts or piercings. The optional
HSK or Capto interface perfectly fits the PITTLER MultiTool into any
tooling concept of any PITTLER machine.

Put the PITTLER MultiTool to work to explore its full potential. Like the finished ring of a
planet gear below. The job is to rough-machine and finish the inside and outside of the
highly accurate gear mechanism without rechucking.
To accomplish the task, you would normally need 6 different lathing tools consuming 6
toolbox places and having to be brought into and removed from the workspace several
times.
PITTLER MultiTool takes but a single step!
In just 0.3 seconds, the MultiTool head turns and moves the correct lathing tool into
place. This is enabling straight and face turning operations as well as undercuts and
piercings using tools of different geometries. Or place tools of the same geometry at
each of the cutting positions and swivel them into place at the end of each tool‘s life.
