ADULT SUMMER SCHOOL
THURSDAY, JULY 6, 2017
Try something new; one day of Summer School just for adults. You must be 18 years or older to register for these classes. Register by
mailing the registration page in to PACE at PO Box 36, Pulaski, WI 54162. Mark your class choices clearly, include payment (if any is
listed) with a check or Money Order written out to PACE. See, for yourself, what your children do while at Summer School.
Want to attend but don’t know what to do with your little ones? We will be offering babysitting for children ages 6 months through 11
years old at our AAA room at Glenbrook. The cost will be $1 per child per hour. You must provide all snacks, bottles, diapers, wet ones,
etc. We will provide the babysitters, toys, and time on the playground, weather permitting. Entrance will be through Door #6 on Front
Street. Pre-registration is required by June 16th to guarantee a spot for your children. We will hire babysitters accordingly.
Following is a short description of each class being offered. Choose only one class per session and be sure to choose the lunch and supper
options if you intend to stay for the meals and tours. Pre-Registration no later than June 16 is absolutely required. Classes will have
between 15-30 students each and may be cancelled for low enrollment. You can attend one, two, three, or all four sessions plus lunch and
supper, depending on your wants, choices and schedule.
STEM… What is it anyway? Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; an innovative approach to introducing all of these
subjects into everyday learning at the elementary level with hands-on projects.
Cookie Decorating…Learn cookie decorating from a pastry chef. The techniques being taught are glazing, flooding, and covering in

and a set of food coloring markers too. Bring a container from home to take your cookies home in.
Painting on Canvas 1...Build a canvas and paint a sunset landscape with acrylic paints.
Make & Take Healthy Chicken Meals… Each registrant will take home 10 one pound packages of seasoned chicken breast meals.
Ten different seasonings and healthy Extra Virgin Olive Oil to create ready to be frozen or eaten skinless chicken breast meals.

students are reading and all the different ways to read a book today. Some books may be available to check out for the summer.
Garage Band… Become a Composer on your own device: Preview and create your own music with your own personal sound studio.
Let’s Make a Movie… Make a video. Bring electronic pictures or actual photos of an event or family members to make your own video.
You will learn the planning process, preparation, editing and exporting processes. You will leave with an exported video on YouTube to
share with others! We will be using iMovie so feel free to bring your own iPad or use one we have for you! Taught by our Tech. Dept.
Painting on Canvas 2… Build a canvas and paint a mountain landscape with acrylic paints.
Pallet Board Sign… All the supplies and instruction will be provided to paint your own pallet board wall key hanger in one session.
Kitchen Knife Skills…Our ProStart Culinary Arts teacher will guide you through this hands-on lab on how to master kitchen knife
selection and usage by practice and preparing actual recipes.

Oneida Culture…Learn a little about the Oneida language and culture and the school year classes we are offering our students related to
these.
Tweets, Snaps, Messages… In order to stay involved in your children's activities online or participate yourself, you first need to understand all
these social media outlets. We will explore each of these social outlets and have an opportunity to create your own accounts and start collaborating
virtually!
Tech Ed Tours & Trades… Using our high tech equipment like a 3D printer, CNC router, CNC plasma cutter, and 3D modeling software we will
create a product. In addition, an overview of the high school technology and engineering education department including PLTW (Project Lead the
Way engineering curriculum) courses, Raider Products, and all of the other courses covered in our department will be explained during a
department tour.
Genealogy and Ancestry…Discover where you came from using online sources and create your own personal family tree binder to continue at
home.
Spanish for Travel…Learn several Spanish words and phrases that will make travel to Hispanic countries easier, safer and more fun.
Fitness Center 101…Get an introduction to our PCSD Fitness Center, learn how to use each machine and piece of equipment; then practice on
them.
Google Apps… Google Apps for Education is a suite of apps that all PCSD students use in school. You may have learned Microsoft, but
our students use Google! Come learn all about Google Apps- docs, sheets, slides, hangouts and more. You will not only have an
understanding of this suite of apps, but also be able to be productive using them yourself.
