ANNUAL REPORT 2011
A Year of Triumph...
Revenue
While many said it couldn’t be done, we knew it could… and on
December 9, 2011, we celebrated the Grand Opening of the Ford
Apartments, along with the Central City East community of
downtown Los Angeles, a community more commonly known as
“Skid Row”.

The new Ford Apartments replaced the nefarious Ford Hotel, a
run-down, dilapidated, hotel known for crime, drugs, prostitution,
and unfortunately, even death. It was so bad, armed guards had
to stand watch at the front door and patrol its dark hallways.
And now, beauty has replaced blight, and hope has replaced despair. The old, 295 grimy hotel rooms were transformed into
150 contemporary studio apartments with private bathrooms,
kitchenettes, new furnishings, air-conditioning, microwave, refrigerator, and more. The once dark, enclosed walls have now been
replaced with a large, bright, open-air patio.
The new Ford Apartments provide on-site supportive services,
recreation and socialization activities, classes, computer room,
game rooms, library, TV room, lounges, laundry rooms on every
floor, and more.
