A SMILE AND A GREAT ATTITUDE!
In the classroom
Class will be conducted in Spanish with English clarification and grammar explanation when
needed!
Please refer to “La Meta” for further clarity!
I encourage you to participate as much as you can in class and speak Spanish voluntarily!
The more you practice, the more you will learn! There will always be a respectful
environment while practicing in the Target Language; so have fun and enjoy it!
Attendance
Every student is expected to be in the classroom on time and with all the required material
before the tardy bell rings.
Any student that is late will not be able to come into the classroom unless he/she has a tardy
note by an administrator or a faculty member. If the tardy is excused and an activity,
homework check, quiz, project or test is taking place, the student will be able to join the group.
Students with an absence may complete make –up work, quizzes, and or Test, the student will
have 5 days to get the work done.
The student needs to be reminded that if the absence is excused and the computer has posted
it as unexcused, he/she will need to go directly to the front office to take care of this issue due
to the fact that the instructor has no access to the attendance section once it has been posted!
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR ABSENCES and try your best to be diligent. We
understand things happen, and we are here to help you.
Academic Honesty
Cheating on any graded assignment will result in a (0) grade for the assignment and shall be
referred to the Dean of Academics who will then meet with the Academic Integrity Board.
Students caught cheating will be removed from consideration of top honors. For examples of
cheating and plagiarism, please refer to the student hand book page 29 section 5008.
My tutoring hours will be after school to be able to assist you in anything you might need!
Your willingness and disposition will be a great contributor to this factor.
THE BEST ADVISE?
DO NOT MISS CLASS J
Behavior
Your behavior in class is expected to be pleasant and respectful and because we are all
learning together we need to be responsible to make our learning environment a great
experience!
Please do not be negative about your class, your teachers or your classmates! Remember if
you do not have something nice to say about somebody, do not say it at all! We are all open for
suggestions to improve while achieving our success when the right attitude is demonstrated!
Chewing gum is not allowed in my class.
A POSITIVE ATTITUDE DOES WONDERS J
Your social time is for lunch and before or after school, so please come prepared to learn,
enjoy the class and experience the gift that you can be to each other by either helping each
other, working with each other during class or simply learning new ideas from each other! If
this is hard for you to do, you are still expected to show respect for your classmates and your
instructor!
Electronic devices
Cell phones and I pods and any other electronic devices are not allowed in the classroom, so
please leave them in your lockers. If somebody is trying to reach you in an emergency, they
will contact the office and they will be more than glad to come to the classroom and deliver the
message! If this rule is not followed, the cell phones will be confiscated until the end of the
school day and you will have to pick it up at the Dean of Students’ office and remember that
there is a fine you will have to pay in the office and you will serve detention! So, please do not
bring your phones to class! For specification on the electronic devices, please see page 45 of
the handbook.
House keeping
Please take care of all your personal business during your passing period and yes, this
includes trips to the restroom if needed! J Our class is very dynamic and if you miss an
important part of the grammar, the activity, the song, the dance or the lecture, it might take a
while before you catch up! If there is a medical condition, please provide the instructor with a
copy from your doctor/parent’s request or a simple phone call from your parents or guardian
will be sufficient!
THE GOLDEN RULE IS EXPECTED TO BE APPLIED DURING EVERY CLASS
PERIOD!
Here are a few ideas to help you reach the level of success that you deserve
* Keep track of your grades and assignments!
*Practice, practice, practice and again I say, practice. 20minutes a day can make a great
difference!

assignments and work. We will spend some time going over the advantages of knowing the
format of the book. The verb charts, vocabulary and grammar explanations.

to enter (look for the code on the book activities and on the web and you can practice as much
as you want to.)
