cruise ship guest making a purchase to inquire as to whether or
not the store participates in VAT and if the purchase qualifies for a

LIBYA
A. Castel Nuovo
This massive fortress was built in the 13th century by the Angevins
and then rebuilt in the 15th century by the Aragonese rulers who
succeeded them. The triumphal arch that forms the entrance is one
of the finest works of its kind. Inside the castle is a museum that
contains sculptures and frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries
and artwork from the 15th to the 19th centuries.
B. Royal palace
This imposing 17th century structure was built by renowned
architect Domenico Fontana. It was rebuilt after a fire in the 19th
century and was restored after having suffered great damage
during World War II. The structure is known for the eight statues of
kings from the different dynasties that were placed in the niches
of the ground floor during the 19th century. It also features original
Bourbon furniture, paintings and statues.
C. San carlo opera house
This exquisite theater was built in 1727 and soon became the
center of Napolitan musical life. It was restored and embellished
many times by the major architects working in Naples between the
18th and 19th centuries, which included Ferdinando Fuga and
Antonio Niccolini.Visitors will awe at the interior of this structure with
the scenographic royal section, the balustrades with 184 elegantly
adorned boxes and the grandiose fresco on the vault.
EGYPT
Pompeii
This ancient Roman town was buried along with its 2,000 residents
in 79 AD when Mt. Vesuvius erupted. It is the best preserved
specimen of an ancient Roman town in existence and contains an
extensive forum, lavish baths and temples and patrician villas richly
decorated with frescoes. Visitors should not miss the Villa dei
Misteri, whose paintings are in such good condition that one would
not believe that they are more than 1,900 years old. It is located 15
miles southeast of Naples.
Amalfi Coastline
The most enchanting and most visited route in Campania is that
skirting the southern flank of Sorrento’s peninsula, the Amalfi Coast.
Among the popular pleasures here are dining on locally caught
grilled fish and sipping icy Lacrima Christi from the vineyards on the
slopes of Vesuvius, interspersed with beach-hopping and trips to
coastal summits to admire the breathtaking views.
