Introduction
The Los Angeles Business Assistance Virtual Network (BAVN) at
http://www.labavn.org is a free service provided by the City of Los Angeles and
the Mayor's Office of Economic Development.
Registering on BAVN allows you to view and download information about all
contractual opportunities offered by the City of Los Angeles in one convenient
location as well as find up-to-date certified sub-contractors to complement your
project bid. Our goal is to have your business grow in the City of Los Angeles.
If you are not registered already, please register for a free account on BAVN by
visiting us at http://www.labavn.org.
This tutorial will walk you through the process of

Registering your Company on BAVN.

Step 1: Click on the Register link
Go to www.labavn.org/ and click on the Register link to start the process.
Step 2: Verify that your company does not exist on BAVN

Enter Company Name
Identify if you are a Sole Proprietor
Enter Email Address
Select Location
Enter your Tax ID
Click on the Check button

Click on the Register A New Company Account link

Step 4: Enter Company Information
 Field names with an asterisk is required
NOTE – Under Contractor – You can choose to register your company
as a Prime, Prime-Sub or Subcontractor
 Click on the Next button

Step 5: Select NAICS Code





You may visit the Census website to confirm the NAICS codes that best
describes your company
Click on the Show all 2 digit NAICS codes link
Click on the 2 digit code that best describes your company
Expand through the codes until you see a 5 or 6 digit code. Click on the
checkbox to select codes
Click on the Next button

Step 6: Select a Certification

If applicable, click on the Cert that you would like to apply for and select a
Certifying Agency
 Click on the Next button
NOTE – Some of the certifications may require further documentation

Step 7: Enter User Information


Enter your First and Last Name and reconfirm your email address
Click on the Next button

Step 8: Verify Company and User Information


Verify Company and User Information
Click on the Submit Registration button

Step 9: Confirmation Page.

Your login name and password will be emailed to you
NOTE Please check your Inbox for your user id and password.
You may also want to check your spam or junk folder as it is sometimes
routed there instead of your inbox.
