Assemblies
DKA and SJT will be leading the assemblies this week on the
move from Phase III to Phase IV so that students are well
prepared for the closing weeks of this term and the restart.
When we hold out our hands to tomorrow, what will fill
them? What are we hoping for?

Planning for the future, and its turns and exits, is very important
to us. We like hope, even though we may fear disappointment.
That things can be better tomorrow, and further into the future,
is a foundation for how we plan our living.
Consider: what will the world be like for those who are
born as babies this week, and who will start their time in
secondary schools in September 2023? How will it have
changed? How will what is becoming new for us now
have changed by then ... speculate...imagine...

On March 12 ...on this day: Coca Cola first sold in bottles (1894)
and Hawaii became a US State (1959). That famous ‘photograph’
of the Loch Ness monster ... was found to be a fake, a hoax!
(1994) Things that we take for granted as dates from our past...
some things seemed true and important at the time, but now
that we look back ...
We wish to be able to act in ways that make things better
tomorrow than they have been today – for those we love, for our
friends, for ourselves. We understand that tomorrow does not
happen to us, but the choices we make (last weeks’ thoughts)
are significant in what will happen tomorrow.

Consider what this story may mean for us this week...
Whose advice would you take? Is it better to get things over and
done with? Is it better to wait and see, or to plan ahead... or just
to put things off?
