Get this. The AppleSox have played five WCL 3-game sets at home...lost three to Corvallis, won
three from Medford, lost three to Yakima Valley, won three from Klamath Falls and lost three to Bend.
Nice to keep the pattern going now and then end it next week.
Falcons Flying High
- Since the 54-game WCL schedule started five seasons ago, Kelowna has never done as well as
they are doing right now with 21 wins through 30 games. Beginning in 2011 their total wins at the end
of the season have been 19, 28, 19 and 15 respectively.
- They come to town with wins in six of their last seven games and in 11 the last 14.
- They are the second highest scoring team in the league at 6.0 runs per game. (Wenatchee fifth at
5.0.)
July 13 Games - What a Day
The AppleSox love playing on the 13th of July. They have taken the field a dozen games on this date
and left the diamond victors in 11 of them (ties with August 6 for the best dates in history). The lone
loss occurred to the same outfit they play tonight, Kelowna three years ago. They are 1-1 vs. the Falcons...a win 2003. Yes, overall 11-1, league 7-1, nonleague 4-0, home 5-1 and away 5-0.
Who’s Hot: Victoria has won 6 straight. Bend has won 9 of 10 and 20 of 23. Bellingham has won 7
of 8. Kelowna has won 6 of 7. Corvallis has won 5 straight and 9 of 11.
Who’s Not: Kitsap has lost 10 straight and 12 of 13. Klamath Falls has lost 10 straight and 12 of 13.
Wenatchee has lost 5 of 6. Medford has lost 7 of 9.
