Instructions:
Attach each supply listed above in order.
The girls LOVED this craft and many used their sticks as bookmarks.
Collage
Equipment:
 Magazines
 Cardboard
 Scissors
 Glue
Method:
1. Provide the girls will newspapers and magazines. Ask them to make a
collage of pictures and words that reflect the wording of the Promise and
Law.
2. Let the girls discuss why they chose the pictures and words they did.
Patrol Time Craft
Promise Fence
Equipment:
 Popsicle sticks (we used coloured sticks)
 Alphabet noodles
 White glue
Instructions:
1. Make a "fence" using one vertical Popsicle stick with six or seven
horizontal opsicle sticks glued on to it. Find all of the letters for the
promise, and glue them on to the horizontal Popsicle sticks in order
2. This takes a VERY LONG TIME (we took three meetings to complete
this)!
How to Make a Compass
Equipment:
 Small plastic container
 A sharp knife
 A needle
 A cork
 A magnet
Method:
1. Ask an adult to help you cut a slice of cork about 5mm thick.
2. Magnetise the needle by stroking it several times along the magnet from
eye to point in the same direction.
3. Push the needle carefully through the cork across the circle
4. Fill a plastic container with water and float the cork in it. Check with a
compass which end or the needle points to north and mark it on the cork.
5. Fill in the other compass points on the cork, using a permanent marker
pen
