In 2017, I will host two cruises to raise funds for our public television stations. The first cruise is
called Baltic Legends and is timed so we will be in Stockholm for the Midsummer Eve Festival.
WHY CRYSTAL CRUISES?
When it comes to cruising, there are two things of considerable importance to me. Once I get onboard – I unpack
and don’t have to deal with packing again until the cruise is over. Secondly – I get to sleep in the same bed
throughout my trip. Research clearly indicates that the first night you spend in a new bed is stressful and your brain
is not properly rested. My brain is constantly stressed-out and doesn’t need any more hassle. Accordingly, I am a big
fan of cruising and have been on over 50 cruises.
The trick is to find the right ship, with the right itinerary, at the right time of the year. For a number of years, I have
been testing various cruise lines and different ships both for ocean cruising and river cruising. The big ones were
too big and the small ones were too small. I was beginning to feel like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. And then I
found one that was “just right”. It was the Crystal Symphony and I sailed it around the Mediterranean.
Years ago, I reported on how professional evaluators check-out a hotel. They arrive with their own burned-out light
bulb, take out the one in their room that is working, put in the dead one and see how long it takes the staff to spot
the problem and fix it. They showed me a dozen really sneaky things like that and I tried them all on the Crystal
Symphony. They got it right, every time. This is why my next fundraising cruise for our public television stations is on
the Crystal Symphony.

WHY FIVE STAR TRAVEL
