Outline Description
The building of the chapel goes back to 1888 on the design of the celebrated
Emmanuele Galizia in the neo-Gothic style. The builder was Wigi Vella. The church
was finished in 1893.
Property Description
The neo-Gothic façade is embellished with a steepli pitched roof, punctured by
lanced windows and a series of buttresses topped with pinnacles. A circular rose
window adorns the gable over the main door, while, at the other end, a square tower
is topped by a tall, slender spire.
The main portal is set within large lancet arch with jambings on either side which
continues to form two slender small-scaled spires at the side. Above the lancet
window, thre is a large pointed triangular pediment with a tracery window
puncturing the otherwise austere pediment.
The tower has a set of bells and at its top, immediately under the spire, there are four
clock faces.
