Summer 2017
While students are not required to live on-campus during the summer sessions, York College of Pennsylvania
offers on-campus summer housing through the Office of Residence Life. On-campus summer housing is offered to
York College of Pennsylvania students who are actively enrolled in YCP summer courses, YCP work experience (i.e.
internship, co-op, etc), or otherwise engaged in approved YCP activities. A limited number of rooms are available.
In order to reserve your summer housing, this completed, signed application and full payment must be given to
the Business Office by the dates listed on the back of this form.
SUMMER HOUSING TERMS
Location
Housing will be an on-campus apartment (i.e. Susquehanna Hall, Tyler Run III). Students will receive a placement
email by Monday, May 1, 2017.
Assignments
Double bedrooms in 4-person apartments will be available. Rates for summer housing are listed on the back of
this form and reflect the cost of a double room. Preferences may be listed on the reverse side of this form. We will
make every attempt to honor these requests, but cannot guarantee a specific assignment.
Air Conditioners
Typically air conditioner units are not allowed in on-campus facilities. Students needing an air-conditioner need to
complete a request form with the Office of Residence Life. If approved, the additional cost to that student would
be $25 per week. The student’s air conditioner would need to be a stand-alone, self-evaporating unit, no larger
than 8,000 BTUs.
Board Options and Kitchen
Johnson Dining Hall will open for lunch service during their specific summer hours on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Each apartment does have a kitchen which includes a full-size refrigerator/freezer, oven, stove, and cabinet space.
Students may bring a microwave as long as it falls within the College guidelines of less than 700 watts.
Personal Property
York College of Pennsylvania is not liable for loss or damage to personal property occurring while a student
resides in College-owned housing. Renter’s insurance is suggested. YCP will NOT provide temporary storage
between the end of the Summer II semester and the start of the Fall semester.
Property Care
Residents are responsible for the care and cleaning of their apartment as well as the common area for the
apartment complex. A resident may not install equipment, make alterations, or make repairs without prior
permission.
Refunds
No refunds for summer housing will be given after classes have begun.
Subletting
York College of Pennsylvania regulations strictly prohibit the subletting of any College living facilities.
YCP Policies and Procedures
As a summer resident of York College of Pennsylvania, the resident agrees to abide by all College policies and
procedures as outlined in the College Catalog, Student Handbook, and Student Code of Conduct. These policies
pertain to, but are not limited to, alcohol, illegal drugs and paraphernalia, pets, use of motor vehicle, general
student conduct, and emergencies.

NOTE: York College of Pennsylvania may not provide housing between August 10, 2017, and August 26, 2017. If
continued on-campus housing is needed due to an internship or co-op, then cost is determined on a weekly basis
as availability permits.
