Dear Heather,
Thank you for your email. I believe that our arboricultural consultant has already been in contact
with the tree officer and that the fencing has been approved. The text of his latest email is copies
below.
I assume that the only item now to be approved is the building materials and we should be able
to send you photos of the sample panel tomorrow. If there is anything else outstanding, please
let me know.
Best wishes,
Emma Fry

Subject: Tree protection fencing photos
Hi Chris,
I have sent the photos to the Tree Officer regarding the protective fencing - they kept coming back, but it
seems to be OK now.
I had already spoken to her before she went away and she is happy with what we have done on your site
- she should now approve the tree protection measures and won't need to visit your site.
Hope this is all acceptable and everything is going well?
All the best
Steve

Hi Emma,
Thank you for your email. It will be great if we can finalise the last few details in respect of the materials.
There is still the remaining issue on both the applications in respect of the trees and the tree protection.
I cannot discharge the conditions until the method statement has been agreed and the tree protection is
in place. If the fencing is in please can you send photos of this and I can forward these to our tree
officer.
Kind regards,
Heather Faulkner

Dear Heather,
Further to my query about change of roofing material for 13/02750/COND (annexe flat), we have
decided to stick with the original design, i.e. tiles.
For 13/02749/CON, we will have a sample panel ready on Wednesday and will send a photo to you.
We have taken the tiles off the roof of the original garage building for safe keeping. We have a workforce
booked to collapse the garage - this has been booked for some time as we had anticipated having final sign off
by this date. Is it okay for us to go ahead with this?
Best wishes,
Emma Fry

Dear Emma,
Thank you for getting back to me. I need to speak to the original case officer about the change in the
roof material. I am on leave for two weeks and she isn’t in the office today so unfortunately this will
have to wait until I get back.
Sorry for the delay, I’ll be in touch as soon as I can.
Once this and the tree information has been resolved we can move forward on this one.

Heather Faulkner

Dear Heather,
Please see below the information you requested for 13/02750/COND (annexe flat). We will
reply separately concerning 13/02749/COND.
Condition 2
Tile: double roman clay; tile re-claimed from existing building (sample has been submitted)
Although our original application was for a double roman clay tile, we think that grey Welsh
slate (from Jewsons) would better tie the annexe in with the surrounding buildings and would
raise the general appearance. Would use of welsh slate instead of the double roman clay tiles be
acceptable?
Condition 3
Stone: doulting stone; reclaimed from stone walls on site which have been replaced by fences
over the years. Bradstone reconstructed stone buff quoins around doors and windows, to tie in
with new house
Mortar: 9 parts sand; 2 parts lime; 1 part cement.
Tree protection: now in place; Arboricultural Consultant inspecting this week and liaising with
tree officer.
Best wishes,
Emma Fry

Dear Chris,
I visited your property on Tuesday to assess the sample panels. Following this I have a couple of
comments to make on each of the applications.
Conditions application 13/02750/COND (for application 11/01467/FUL)
- Condition 2 – please can you confirm the details of the tile to be used. I think you mentioned
that the tile would be reused and I would be grateful if you could confirm this in writing and if
possible provide details of the tile eg. type and make.
- Condition 3 – the sample panel looks acceptable, however, please can you confirm in
writing the details of the sample, eg. what stone is used, where is it from, what it’s the mortar etc.
In respect of the trees the Arboricultural Officer informs me that the protection is no currently in
place.
Conditions application 13/02749/CON (for application 13/02749/COND)
Conditions 9: I am concerned that that the sample panel I saw on site appears to be for the both
the annex and the extension, please can you confirm this and provide the details as requested
above. I have assumed that the tiles will be the same as on the newly constructed house however
please confirm this. No sample of the render has been provided. Further details of the doors and
windows are required.
Please address the above issues so that I can move the applications forward.
Kind regards,
Heather Faulkner
