Action” and what better way to celebrate than to join together and Volunteer!

14th Annual Komen LA County Race for the Cure

Description
An annual event to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Options
(1) Join the NASW Team to Run or Walk
Entry Fees: Adult is $40 untimed and $45 timed
(2) Solicit Online Donations from Home
On the Susan G Komen website, anyone can easily create an online page for
donations and solicit donations from friends and colleagues.
(3) Event Volunteer
This event always needs individuals to assist before, during, and after the race
i.e., register participants, handout t-shirts, hand out water, etc.
Meet-up
The day of the event, come to the NASW tailgate prior to the race to meet the team and
/or afterwards meet up for brunch at Phillips, 1001 N. Alameda Street, LA 90012.

Nothing but Sand - Beach Cleanup

Description
Open to every one with no minimum age. This is an easy and fun project for every age.
Heal the Bay provides all the cleanup supplies. Each participant must sign a liability
waiver (available at the cleanup).
Meet-up
Join the NASW team and make a difference to the local environment and everyone who
enjoys the beach. Participants will meet for lunch afterwards at a local restaurant.
