Role Research Analyst Job Duties The Research Analyst role will entail developing a strong understanding of macroeconomic factors as well as industry and company dynamics. The analyst will work with the top investment banks and financial institutions, performing indepth analysis on the operational and financial performance for global companies. The person should have good command (read/write/speak) over Mandarin and English. The role will involve preparation of databases, creating financial models, tracking key industry and company events and writing research notes/reports (in Mandarin and in English). Selected candidates will undergo extensive training in research, analysis and accounting concepts. The key deliverables include: Tracking industry dynamics and regulatory trends Tracking operational performance on regular basis, which include: o evaluating country and macroeconomic risk o competitive position analysis o strategy/execution/management and o profitability/peer comparisons Tracking financial performance on regular basis statements, which include: o accounting o financial governance and policies o valuation using multiple standard techniques o liquidity/short-term factors Financial modeling - historical and projections, conducting peer comparisons; Responding to external events having material impact on the company Preparing internal research notes; and Preparing publishable reports Skills required Strong understanding of accounting and financial concepts Research exposure Strong financial modeling capabilities Above average written and verbal communication skills Good reading/writing/speaking skills in Mandarin and English Innovative thinking and solution orientation Open to new ideas and initiatives Ability to build strong client relations Ability to take execute tasks independently Sector/Industry knowledge and equity research experience will be added advantage Page 1 of 1
