Each organization will have the opportunity to paint the sidewalk
blocks in between the University Center and the Parker Building
in front of the Library.

BLOCK PAINTING PARTY 2011: REQUEST FORM
Block Painting will take place on Sunday, October 30, 2011. The hours of painting will be from
10 am ending at 4pm. Paint will be distributed from 10 am to 1:00pm only. All groups must
have all of their painting completed by the end of the event. (4PM)

paint is sufficient to cover an entire block. Paint color options other than these listed below will
not be available or permitted. Limit 4 colors per organization.

NOTE: No enamel or oilbased paint will be used.
Water-base latex is the only
approved paint. Fine
sand/grit is added to the
paint furnished to insure a
rough surface making all
attempts to avoid a slippery
surface when paint is wet. All
paint will be provided by the
Office of Student Activities for
your convenience.
BLOCK PAINTING PARTY 2011: BLOCK DESIGN

Please use this page or attach a separate sheet containing the design your organization
wishes to submit for Block Painting. The Office of Student Activities will contact the
person listed on this form to provide information regarding the location of your
organization’s block prior to Block Painting.
2.
Review and sign the Block Painting Rules Form. Return these three items (the Request
Form, the Block Design Form and the signed copy of the Block Painting Rules) NO LATER
than October 19 at 5:00 pm to the SOuRCe (Rosenthal 201). In order to be considered
eligible to participate in the Block Painting Event all of the forms must be submitted at
the same time. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
BLOCK PAINTING PARTY 2011: BLOCK PAINTING RULES
1. Block Painting will take place ONLY on Sunday, October 30th, 2011 from 10:00 am to 4:00
pm.
2. A design sketch of the proposed painting must be submitted for approval to the Office of
Student Activities.
3. Student organizations may block off the painting area using their own supplies, however, all
of these barricade materials must be cleaned and disposed of properly prior to 4:00 pm.
4. Paint distribution will be located on the Library Quad. Paint distribution will begin at 10 am
and end promptly at 1:00PM. Organizations must make arrangements to have a member
available during these times or they won’t be able to paint a block.
5. Paint and print products (including empty paint cans, brushes, paint stir sticks, pans, or
painted papers) will NOT be disposed of in any of the dumpsters on campus. All of the used
and unused paint and paint supplies associated with Block Painting must be returned to the
area where your organization picked up these materials for proper disposal. This must be
done before 4:00 pm. Block Painting will end promptly at 4:00 pm. All paint areas and
supplies must be cleaned up prior to 4:00 pm.
6. LRITC, Parker, ASA building, the Rosenthal Student Center, University Center and
surrounding areas are NOT to be used for any paint needs including, washing brushes or
other items, cleaning supplies, rinsing supplies, etc.
7. Student organizations are prohibited from applying paint to any surfaces, grounds, areas
other than their designated block. In the even that a spill occurs, the student organization
members will need to clean it immediately.
8. Members of Student Organizations will comply with the requests of the Office of Student
Activities and volunteering staff members during the event.
9. Student Organization members have read and agree to abide by all of the Block Painting
rules and policies. If the organization does not follow all of the rules and policies stated
above privileges will be revoked, and the organization will not be permitted to complete
Block Painting for 2011 or subsequent years.
10. I understand that if my organization has a block already I either have to touch-up/refresh
the paint or paint an entirely new design. All blocks not being touched up or redone will be
reassigned and painted over.
