Each evening, students will read and annotate an example of the critical lens that was studied that day. After discussing the final lens, students will work in small groups for Exam Circles before testing on Literary Criticism—this allows a studentled review of the material, as well as teacher monitoring for understanding. Assessments: Collection of an annotation last week to see student understanding—both formative and summative Collection of archetypal/mythological assignment—both formative and summative—to see application of a critical lens outside of literature (film). Exam Circles to monitor understanding of material prior to test—formative. Test with multiple types of questions on prestudied material (test monitors critical thinking and objective, factual questions)
