Welcome to the Divison II (2nd-3rd Grade) Parent Orientation

What is the Math Pentathlon: The Math Pentathlon consists of five games that the
students will learn, and then if your child desires, they can attend the actual pentathlon event that is held in March where they will compete against students from
all across the state.
How will the kids be prepared: Our focus will be to make sure that the kids learn all
five games while having fun and gaining confidence. We will also focus on strategies,
sportsmanship skills, and encourage all of the children to try different approaches.
As the tournament gets closer, we will even have a mini tournament to fully prepare
the students.
What’s My Commitment: We will meet every Tuesday after school at Gretchko for
about an hour. Scotch students will be bussed over to Gretchko. We encourage
parents to help with at least 1 practice a month. This helps the practice, you to understand the game so that you can practice with your child, and prepares you to
help monitor a game at the tournament. If this is a problem please speak to one of
the coaches so that we can work with you.
Parent Coaches: Rene Kubiak & Michelle Sokoli
Teacher Sponsors: Mary Ann Ayar & Michelle Berman
Join us on Tuesdays after school to be part of a fantastic experience for your child!
