Mayor’s Message
Ballarat Heritage Weekend invites you to
unravel the mystery and discover the history
of our unique and wonderful city.
In 2017, Ballarat Heritage Weekend moves
to the final weekend in May and will be the
highlight of a month-long focus on heritage in
our region. We’re exploring and celebrating
Ballarat’s mysterious past across two fun‑filled
days of exciting activities, entertainment
and events.
Families are a focus of the weekend and an
interactive Mystery Trail has been developed
so everyone can engage with some of the
incredibly beautiful and historic buildings
Ballarat has to offer in a fun and unique way.
The popular steam trains return, while the
streets come alive with activities including
bus tours, walking tours, horse & carriage
rides and roving entertainment.
Don’t miss the fabulous 1950’s fashion on
display in the Mining Exchange or the keynote
addresses from Geoffrey Blainey and
George Adams at the Ballaarat Mechanics
Institute. There really is something for
everyone.
The City of Ballarat is proud to present the
2017 Ballarat Heritage Weekend. Please join
us as we celebrate our city’s unique past
and present.
