Carey Ridge Celebraon of Learning
Join us for a night of celebra.ng learning on March 23. You will be able to
view your students Young Author Books, visit the Art Show, shop at the Book
Fair and see the Spring Music Programs. 1st grade performs at 6:30 and 2nd
at 7:15. We hope to see everyone for a fun night.
It's a great time for early spring cleaning! On Monday, March 13, we will once again
begin collecting donations of gently-used clothing of all types and sizes for the Goodwill Collect & Connect program. For each bag of clothing donated, Goodwill will provide a $5 clothing voucher to Westfield Youth Assistance (www.youthassistance.org) to help area families
meet their clothing needs. Through the Collect & Connect campaign last October, our district secured $355 in vouchers for Youth Assistance (and they were very much needed and
appreciated!). We'll continue collecting clothing donations through Friday, March 24. Let's
see if we can improve upon our October contribution!

It was another great week for Readers Are Leaders! Carey Ridge had
363 students who read 100 minutes and 163 students so read 200
minutes. Isabella Hornby in Mrs. Gorman’s 3rd grade class is
this week’s Readers Are Leader’s participant WINNER to have lunch
with Mr. Hilton. Great job to ALL our dedicated readers!
UNDERGROUND RAILROAD RUN...SAVE THE DATE!!
Don’t miss the Underground Railroad Run on Saturday, March 18 at Wes$ield High School. This is
a great opportunity to join together to celebrate health and fitness and support public educa.on in
our community. The 5k race starts at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 3k walk at 9:30 and awards ceremony at 10:15. Plan to visit the Health Fair (8:00-10:30 a.m.) and meet many local health and fitness providers. It’s not too late to enter the run or walk! Registra.on forms are at all Wes$ield
Washington Schools, can be found online at www.wws.k12.in.us or by calling (317) 867-8085. If you prefer, fast and
safe registra.on can be done at www.tuxbro.com for both the 5K & 3K. The school with the highest registra.on will
win a $500 teaching grant to provide learning enrichment for their P. E. health and fitness classes.
