Donate Pints for Half-Pints
Fact: Did you know that when Sammy needed blood products on the day of the accident he had to wait hours for some
because there was a shortage!!!! HOURS!!! That was precious time in the life of this little guy wasted, waiting for
something that should have been there had more people chosen to help. I asked a few nurses from CHOP right after the
accident, “What can we do? How can we help? ” and they said, “DONATE BLOOD!”
Meet Josie and Jonah. They are both classmates of Sam Smith at PCS. Three half-pints, under the age of 5, in one
classroom, all needed some sort of blood product in their short lives. Their lives were saved because someone decided
to donate 20 minutes of their time giving a pint of their blood or some plasma.
So how can YOU help?

Any healthy person 18 years of age or older (16-17 with parental consent/form)

Why:
Pray for Sam, to celebrate the lives of these 3 kids, give life to up to THREE PEOPLE who desperately need it,
to be bold, and for
every person who donates blood, you will receive a coupon for a
FREE 1lb BAG OF COFFEE FROM DUNKIN DONUTS! Woo Hoo! (and meet
these 2 half-pints face to face)  your donation could save these 3 kids again!

We would LOVE to have the school
packed with people and have to stay late. What a way to show how much we all care! And we can plan accordingly.
To Schedule an Appointment:
1. Go to www.redcrossblood.org
2. Type in the sponsor code PLUMSTEAD in the upper right corner blue rectangle where it says “GIVE BLOOD FIND
A BLOOD DRIVE.” (click the arrow to search)
3. Click on Plumstead Christian School
4. A schedule will pop up
5. Click on the time which you would like
6. If you are a returning client, sign in. If not, you must create an account (just fill in the blanks)
7. Choose what you would like to donate (blood/double red cells)
8. Confirm your appointment!
** should you need to change your time, just click on the word “change” next to Plumstead Christian School
**If you are 16 years old, please click on the “student” link in the upper right corner of the website and DOWNLOAD
THE PARENTAL CONSENT FORM! YOU MUST HAVE THIS TO DONATE. Please read through the “guide” as well to make
sure you meet the criteria.
**If you have kiddos, bring them along too! We will have a supervised-room set aside for them to play in/watch a
movie/color.
