Information: Climbing Wall Drop In
General Information:
The climbing wall is located in the basement of the LB Gym. The wall is about 15 feet high and is considered a
bouldering wall. Ropes are only used during birthday parties and other special bookings. Children must be 8
years and older for open climb and 5 years and older for Family Night and weight at least 40lbs.
The Drop In sessions at the Climbing Wall are run through UNB’s Rock and Ice Club.
Hours:
Sunday – Friday 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Beginner Hour – Monday 5:00pm – 6:00pm.
Junior Program – Monday 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Ladies Hour – Wednesday 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Setting Clinic – Saturday – 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Family Night – Sunday 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Fees and Access
There is a climb fee of $5 unless members have their own shoes, in which case the fee is $3. This fee is paid to
the wall monitor (downstairs) and not at the Membership Services Desk. *First time coming to the wall is
free.*
Non UREC Members will need to purchase a Day Pass (Adult $10 or Child $5) as well as the $5 climb fee.
If there is interest to climb often, purchasing the UREC Sport Club Membership ($54/semester or $108/2
terms or $161/3 terms) is the most economical membership for visiting the climbing wall. All climbers must
show a UREC membership card/receipt to enter the LB Gym to climb.
o If they are looking to come less than 10 times throughout the duration of their sports club
membership (annual or semester) purchasing this membership BUT STILL PAYING THE $5
CLIMB FEE is their best option
o If they are looking to come MORE than 10 times, they should join the UNB Rock and Ice Club!
Club members pay a $50 annual fee (September to August) (to the wall monitor or club
president) and do NOT need to pay the climb fee each time they come.
o If they are looking to come JUST during the summer months (May – August) then they could
join the UNB Rock and Ice Club for $25 Summer Fee.
