Charters Close News Your estate update May 2013 Showers over the weekend didn’t stop local residents enjoying a fun day to brighten up the estate. If you were out on Saturday 11 May you would have noticed a hive of activity taking place around the main entrance of the estate. We worked with your local tenants’ and residents’ association who enlisted the support of our contractors, Keepmoat and Pinnacle, to bring some life back in the two circular flower beds. Children, dressed for the occasion in hard hats, hi-vis jackets and gloves, planted a variety of shrubs and bedding plants to bring some colour back to the flower beds. Activities for children and young people were also on offer and older residents had an opportunity to enjoy some tasty refreshments and chat with their neighbours. Local children from the estate are helped by staff and our contractors to plant up the new flower bed keen to make use of the watering cans donated by the contractors. Passers by walking along Gipsy Hill stopped to admire the new plants and commented on how much they had improved the local environment. We would like to thank the Charters Close tenants’ and residents’ association for organising such a successful event and we hope everyone who came along had an enjoyable few hours in the fresh air.
