Whenever the computer is executing a command or program, the keyboard is physically locked except for input requests.
The only command that can be given when the keyboard i s locked is Stop Execute (press "ATTN").
Terminals with PTTC/EBCD character sets are usually equipped with an equals sign (=) over the numeric 1. This feature
usually differentiates PTTC/EBCD machines from other varieties which may appear to be similar.
Whenever the system is awaiting input, the keyboard is unlocked. At these times, system messages concerning potential
or actual service interruptions cannot be received at the terminal.
The system will not accept paper tape input from an EBCD terminal.
Do not attempt to use the automatic multiple hyphen, underline, or spacing feature on this terminal while on line.
