Children’s (LAC) Service
Hi there.
We hope you’re doing okay.
There is a team at CAMHS who
specialise in supporting you! We
also support children who are
moving from foster care to
adoptive placements too.
The first thing we should say is
that we are always listening to you.
We know that you hate anything
that has ‘mental’ in the name, let
alone using a service that does.
The word ‘mental’ is just used to
describe symptoms and conditions
that are different to anything else.
It certainly does not mean you're

Okay, so how do we do this?
Well, we will have a consultation
meeting with your social worker.
This is so we have an idea about
your experiences and how they
affect you. It also saves us asking
really difficult questions when we
first meet you.
