June 7 Potluck:
On June 7 we had our final meeting of the year. The evening started with Mass celebrated by Father
Vince at 6:00 P.M. Following mass we adjourned to the meeting room where we enjoyed a wonderful
meal, full of delicious food contributed by all of our members. I heard people say that it was the best potluck to date. The
food was ‘out of this world’, that’s for sure. There were 54 in attendance including our three priests, Father Vince, Father
Festus and Father David. After dinner, our organization convenor, Linda Forbes, together with Co-Presidents, Anne
Clark and Judith Gillespie, gave out Membership pins. Altogether, 38 women received pins. They are as follows:

Congratulations ladies! We are proud of all of you and thank you for your years of service.
Bakeless Bake Sale: We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who contributed to this years’ Bakeless
Bake Sale. We managed to bring in more than $1,000.00, and this money will go to assisting us in fulfilling our obligations to the many charities that we support. Once again, thank you Sacred Heart Parishioners for your generosity!
In Memoriam: In the past month we have been deeply saddened by the loss of three of our CWL members:
Noreen Salak was a Past President of the CWL and was still on the executive when she passed. She remained a very active member of the CWL (47 years) and will be sorely missed by all. Noreen is survived by her 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
RuthAnn Legault was a long time member of the CWL (47 years) and will be missed by so many. She is survived by
her husband, 3 children , 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Olga Seibot was a relatively new member of our CWL (5 years) but was famous at our bazaars and potlucks for her delicious and decadent cream puffs. She is survived by her 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
We will miss each of these wonderful women and we ask that you keep them and their families in your prayers.
This is the final newsletter until the end of the summer. Everyone have a wonderful summer and come back, refreshed
and ready to work. We have a full agenda for the upcoming fall season. Take care and God Bless. Co-President, Judith
Gillespie

May General Meeting
Thank you to all the ladies who joined us for the May General Meeting at Huron Oaks on May 26, following
Mass at St. Michael's. Our guest speaker was Father Stephen Marsh, associate pastor at Our Lady of Mercy/St.
Benedict/St. Joseph parishes. He spoke to us about Mary, as the mother of Jesus and the important role she plays in the Church. On
the cross Jesus gave us the gift of Mary as our mother. To be in the heart of Christ, he said, we need to be in the heart of Mary. We
can do this by offering ourselves through the intercession of Mary. If we consecrate ourselves to Mary, she will be our champion
before the Lord. Father Stephen recommended True Devotion to Mary by Saint Louis de Montfort as a good book to read to learn
more about consecrating ourselves to the mother of Jesus.
CWL Service Pin
Sixteen ladies were recognized at the dinner with service pins.
Ten year pins: Deanna Mele, Anne Donkers, Emilia Jose, Linda Kensley, Collette Korosec, Joanne Minnis, and Marie Schell
