phrase. Maybe I’ll
copyright it and make it
my own. Anyway, best
of luck this New Year.
LUNCH: Our Holiday
Luncheon was another
success with over 100
in attendance. I had
some thoughts about
my roll as your President at that affair. I'm
like the comic in an old
Burlesque House, everyone is there to see
the girls. So I stand up,
introduce a few folks,
give out Door and
50/50 prizes and get off
fast so the strippers
can take the stage. But
in this case the strippers are our members
who want to bring each
other up to speed on
what happened to them
since our last get together. It really does
my heart good to see
the great time everyone
is having. So if our organization is the conduit to accomplish this
that's fine with me.

he had a vacation
home in Barbados. Well as luck
would have it Bob and I
will be cruising there
this January and Connie is going to pick us
up at the pier, take us
to his home and show
us some real Barbadian hospitality. We may
have been small but we
seem to have
friends everywhere.
CONGRATS: Congratulations to Deputy
Inspector Roy Richter
on his election as
President of the Captains Endowment Association. Roy was a
member of the Housing
Police Department for 5
years in the late
eighty's early
ninety's. Also elected
to his board was Inspector's Rep Mike
Harrington also a former member of the
Housing Police. By the
way our successful former members
don't stop at the
NYPD, the new Chief
of Patrol of the Suffolk
County Police Department is Robert
Ponzo who spent 5
years on our old job.
Congrats are also in order
for Galen Frierson on his
promotion to Deputy
Chief.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP
MEETING
On March 26th, 2008, at
1230 hours, we will hold a
General Membership meeting at State FOP HQ, located at 911 Police Plaza
(23 West John St.), Hicksville, NY, 11801. The purpose of this meeting will be
to discuss the upcoming
NYS FOP Biennial Conference (Fall of 2008), where
we will elect the State Executive Board for the next 2
years, and a precertification of our delegates
to the conference. All members who are interested in
being considered for a delegate position to the conference should attend this
meeting or follow the instructions in the Spring 08 newsletter. Note: The official
election of our delegates will
take place at our Spring
Luncheon meeting to be
scheduled for May. Further,
after the meeting, those interested, may obtain their
NYS FOP ID card. (For details, see article elsewhere in
