Mitchell O. “Mickey” Palmer

Mickey is the County Attorney for Manatee County Government. He commenced service as the
County’s Attorney in April of 2012. Born and raised in Bradenton, Florida, he received his
bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Florida State University in 1977 and his law
degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in 1981.
Mickey has 30 years of experience in the representation of local government entities, including
twelve years in private law practice. Former clients include the City of Bradenton, the City of
Palmetto, the City of Wauchula, the Sarasota County Public Hospital Board, and the SarasotaManatee Airport Authority. Mickey is Florida Bar board certified in construction law and enjoys
an “AV” (Preeminent) rating by the independent rating service Martindale-Hubbell.
