Oats Class Spacewalk
Oats class welcomed Mr Stroud [our resident space expert] for an afternoon of
learning about the ISS, International Space station.
George won the ten question quiz,
multiple choice, all about life on board
the space station.
Mr Stroud then taught us all about a space walk, or EVA- Extra vehicular
activity [just like the one we watched Tim Peake and Tim Kopra carry out]
Ellie was mission control, in constant contact with the astronauts.
Ben was EV 1 – Extra vehicular 1
Maya was EV 2.
William was astronaut 3, in charge of the air lock and the safety of the
astronauts.
Tethered together they exited the airlock and reattached to the outside of the
ISS [ windows]
Their task was to wash the windows, note that the dusters are also tethered to
the astronauts.
Ben lost contact with the ISS but luckily, he used the jet pack in his rucksack
to reattach to the space station.
